It has only been 3 weeks but it already feels like 2019 is in full swing already. Personally my motivation tends to slump around this time in January and as work starts to get busier I tend to lose focus on my goals and resolutions.
I have always been more tech-savvy, and love apps that can help me make my life easier and better, and to help me stay focused and on track with my goals.
Costly memberships & clubs aren’t for everyone so if you are looking for free apps to help improve your health and fitness then look no further, I have rounded up my favourite apps that I use and love below. I use these daily to help me with my goals and I definitely think you should download & test them today for a better you tomorrow! (oooh that line was smooth!)
Without further a-do.. 6 of the best health & fitness apps for 2019:
My Fitness Pal
MyFitnessPal is a free online calorie counter and diet plan. Lose weight by tracking your caloric intake quickly and easily. Find nutrition facts for over 2,000,000 foods.
I have used this app religiously since 2015 and it has been one of the biggest factors in my weight-loss journey. I track my macros every day with MyFitnessPal and I love discovering amazing recipes on the blog and the community is amazing when you need a motivation boost.
Fitbit app and dashboard to track activity, record workouts, log food, connect with friends and family & more.
I use this everyday with my Fitbit Versa and I love seeing it track my sleep, steps, heart rate and workouts. I actually have the Fitbit Aria Scales too so having both my watch and scales sync wirelessly together in one place is super handy.
Dieting is hard enough. But when you work hard, hop on the scale, and see a number that’s higher than yesterday? Well, that’s just not fair! Happy Scale smooths out your daily scale weights and makes insightful predictions about when you’ll hit your goals
I love using this app to see an overall average for my weight loss. There is nothing worse than seeing the scale go up after having a really on plan day so having a app that gives you the average and helps predict when you will hit your goals is amazing.
“Fit Journey” helps you track your weight, body fat and body measurements through graphs and photos. It’s the most effective way to monitor your fitness progress!
I love using this app for tracking non scale progress. The interface is super clean and minimalistic, and it lets you easily add weights and progress photos. I highly recommend this app for keeping progress photos.
No more gym, or weights, or excuses. Sworkit is the workout program for people who have felt too busy to workout, beginners, athletes, travelers, people with injuries, the young, the old. It allows you to customize and play personalized video workouts that fit into your life.
Now I don’t use this for workouts as such but it’s great at the end when I want to do some extra circuits, yoga or stretching. I normally do a Pilates or stretching routine at the end and it’s great because you can set the amount of time and it will do a routine for you based on that and has lots of variety on the free plan!
BodySpace is a revolutionary social fitness platform. It’s the best personal trainer combined with the world’s largest online fitness community. It’s a complete system of innovative workout tools, cutting-edge trackers, fresh content, and social features designed to help you become your best self. The best fitness app, BodySpace is the bridge between dream and do. It’s your ongoing transformation station.
This app has been a staple on my phone for over 3 years now. It is part of bodybuilding.com and in my opinion one of the best workout trackers and apps for lifting programs. You can either find programs already designed, make your own custom one or just go with the flow and track your workouts freestyle. What I love about it the most is the fact all the exercises have full instructions including video queues, and there is a proper rest timer too. It’s a fantastic app for beginners and pros alike.
Have you used any of the apps above? Is there any more apps I need that would make my life better? Let me know in the comments!
Lots of love, S x
