So I Turned 27

‘We are so lucky that at the cross over to our next turn around the sun – the earth gives us the chance to deposit all the bad habits and bad choices at the door and set out a whole new list of intentions’ – KH

A beautiful & wise friend sent me those words in one of my birthday cards this year and I honestly can’t stop thinking about them. Every year we get the chance to wash away the bad choices and the bad decisions; we get to create and change and be who we want to be. We get to choose what we become, how hard we work and what path to take.

Birthdays have always been a struggle for me in my adult years, I get hit hard with the birthday blues and often get left with that dreaded sense of failure.

Turning 27 this year seemed mega scary, it’s finally dawned on me that I am nearly 30 and I feel crap knowing I don’t have any of the ‘adulting’ things ticked off yet. So what if I shifted the thoughts from what haven’t I achieved yet to what do I want to achieve and who do I want to become?

We should be excited we get another year of chances, another year to leave our stamp on the world and do anything we set our minds too!

With this in mind, I have compiled a list of small goals I want to achieve this year, some fitting with the ‘adulting vibe’ and some that I just think would be super fun!

  • Put £330 in a LISA each month to save for a house
  • Go to Disneyland with my best friend
  • Push myself to meet more new people
  • Pay off my credit card & improve my credit score
  • Get to 150-160lbs
  • Complete at least 3 personal projects
  • Read more books
  • Be bolder with my style
  • Start to train clients (fitness)
  • Focus on the blog more
  • Travel to at least 5 places I have never been before
  • Spend more time with friends and family
  • Get stronger in all lifts at the gym
  • Try more classes (hot yoga i am looking at you!)

I am sure that some of the above will be applicable to a lot of people, we are want to be better and do better and find our little bit of happiness.

Here’s to making the next 365 days better than the last, with opportunities for more love, laughter and light!

What do you want to do with your next 365 days? Let me know in the comments!
