TREK Wholefood Energy Bars | Review

the tattooed princess blog - trek natural protein bars

TREK Energy Bars are amazing. Gluten, dairy & wheat free, vegan friendly, 100% natural ingredients and part of your 5 a day, they are the perfect pre or post workout snack or even just a healthy on the go alternative!

I recently spotted these bars in my local Tesco whilst popping in to grab some strawberries for my breakfast smoothie and had to pick them up! The first flavours I tried were the Trek Protein Flapjacks in Cocoa Coconut & Protein Peanut Power Bar. I am absolutely obsessed with anything coconut so I was filled with delight when I tried the coconut flapjack as it tasted insane! So yummy! I am not so much of a fan for peanut butter, but the Peanut Power Bar was really tasty too!

Flash forward to a week later, and I had to grab some more! These Trek bars are a great on the go snack, perfect for pre-workout or post gym snacking! I also picked up a few new flavours to try so I cannot wait to try those!

The flavours I grabbed were Banana Bread & Cocoa Coconut in the flapjack and Cocoa Chaos in the power bar. Now as I said before, Cocoa Coconut is amazing, so so yummy and with 9g protein, it’s a great boost! I have tried the Cocoa Chaos bar now aswell and that tastes great, but the Coconut is still my number 1!

Breaking down the nutritional values of the bars, you are looking at 9/10g protein depending on flapjack or power bar.

Cocoa Coconut: 234kcal, 12.6g Fat, 20.3g Carbs & 9g Protein for a 50g Flapjack.

Cocoa Chaos: 186kcal, 3.5g Fat, 27.3g Carbs & 10g Protein for a 55g Bar.

The Trek Bars are currently 90p/£1 in Tesco depending on flapjack or power bar, but you can also buy them in multipacks on the Trek website!

Have you tried any of the Trek bars? What was your favourite flavour? Let me know in the comments!
