June Round Up – SIANLIFTSWEIGHTS

Life Lately

Welcome back to SIANLIFTSWEIGHTS, my little space on the web where I get to share everything Sian, including fitness, food & obviously Disney.

Today I thought I would share a monthly roundup, seems like a great idea considering today is a Monday & it is the 1st day of the month! My dream start of the month!

It feels like June has been a really busy month, but in reality I don’t think there has been anything really exciting or wild.

I started the month off by getting my eyebrows microbladed by the incredibly talented Ainsley Lawless in Buckinghamshire. I was really worried about getting my brows done and with so many warnings and horror stories when it has gone wrong, it is better to be safe than sorry! You can read all about my experience here and find out how my brows came out!

Movie wise I didn’t do so well, there doesn’t seem to be many great films out right now which kinda sucks. I did however go to see the new XMEN film and oh god, I honestly wouldn’t even give it 1/5 because it is just an abomination!!

I also started my Wellbeing sessions last week with Mind; the mental health charity. I have been on the waiting list with the NHS for just under a year now waiting for therapy so I decided to try and find what else was out there considering I am not able to afford private therapy (perks of being broke af). After lots of research I found out Mind do counselling & therapy and in my local area it ranges from £20-25 for an hour which is incredible. I had an assessment 4-6 weeks ago and got a call from them recently offering a space the next day. I had my session last week and I felt so much better after the first session.

In other less exciting news, what glorious weather we had this weekend! Unfortunately for me, being the ultimate clumsy woman I am – I was out yesterday trying to enjoy the sunshine and gorgeous country park when I managed to trip over and I think I may have even broken, or at least sprained one of toes. It meant I spent last night with my foot elevated with an ice pack which wasn’t how I planned on spending my evening!

Fitness

This month has been super bitty routine wise for me. Normally I have a workout routine planned and stick to the weights all the time but ever since completing the workouts with Musclefood I have struggled to get back into weight training at the gym.

Now do not get me wrong, I have been to the gym this month but something has been missing, I needed something new to try and kick my ass into shape before my holiday so after seeing Hannah (@hannahtracks) smash her 10k running challenge I decided to download a Couch to 5k App on my phone.

I made the mistake of thinking I was super fit and just starting at week 4 instead of week 1 like a normal human, and boy did I pay for it. I haven’t been defeated yet but it is kicking my ass. Tomorrow is the start of Week 7 and I still haven’t got the love for running, and will be interesting to see how I get on with my potentially broken toe…

June has also seen a lot of takeaways and chocolate which I am very ashamed to say. If there was a catchphrase for food this month, I genuinely think it would be ‘Treat Yo Self’ (if you know, you know!). Starting from today I am getting back on track, I have noticed a huge change in how I am feeling mentally, and physically due to the junk I am eating so want to get that changed and start seeing more positive changes.

I also picked up some Peppermint tablets to try last week from Holland & Barrett. Now this may be TMI but I experience quite bad bloating every morning and I use to think it was my Endometriosis but it has reached the point where I have had enough! I will see how I get on with the Peppermint and report back as I did a lot of research and it is highly suggested for those symptoms.

I also finally got round to trying the two new (probably old now lol!) Grenade bars: Dark Chocolate Raspberry* & White Chocolate Salted Peanut* this month. I definitely deserved the Dark Chocolate Raspberry, I gobbled it as a treat after my first long run last week along with buying myself a sexy Gym Fob!! It was absolutely delicious and definitely my favourite from the two.

I think this pretty much sums up my June, I have 3 birthdays in a row in July and then a holiday at the end so the countdown is ON. I want to push myself this month and really get in a positive mindframe!

What was your favourite thing about June? Tell me in the comments below what you got up too!

It’s great that you’re reflecting on the month like this! I think it’s nice to look back on what you did/achieved. Hope the rest of your year goes well! Sounds like you’ve got a great July ahead of you!
