There are a few interesting things that you will only truly understand if you happen to be a woman who lifts weights and I thought I’d put together a collection of them for you right here. Let me know if you relate.
1. Your appetite goes through the roof
If you lift weights occasionally, you may feel a little hungrier after a session, but if you lift weights consistently, your appetitive will go through the roof and stay there. This may seem like a bad thing for women who don’t lift regularly, but what it actually means is that you can eat all of those things you love, in moderation, and still look amazing. You’re burning so many calories that your body needs all of that food you crave. So, while you should mostly eat a healthy diet, you can afford more treats than the average woman who doesn’t lift, too.
2. You’ll do anything to get enough protein
If you’ve ever sat down to a meal of your favourite brands of protein powders online, a couple of boiled eggs and some roasted chicken with a green salad and a handful of nuts, you’ll understand that sometimes it’s necessary to eat a weird and wacky combo of foods to ensure that you get enough protein to feed your muscles and make yourself stronger. Who cares if your friends are silently judging you?
3. Keeping a pair of jeans is impossible
Not because they aren’t well made, but because even little gains prevent you from getting your pins into those favourite skinny jeans. Of course, you don’t care too much because your legs have never looked more toned.
4. Callouses are the cross you bear
When you’re a woman who lifts weights regularly, your hands will become rougher and more calloused than the average manual labourers, but that’s just the way it has to be if you want to be as fit, strong and toned as you caen possibly be. In a way, you’re proud of each and every callous – it helped you to get where you are today.
5. You can outlift a guy
Men are definitely stronger than women due to their genetic makeup, but it is possible for a woman who has been lifting for a while to outlift a man who may not have been training for quite so long and when that happens, it can be one of the best feelings in the world. It validates you and shows all of those people who told you you should not be lifti9ng as you’d never be as strong that they were wrong.
6. You build as much confidence as muscle
Lifting may be about building muscle, but a few months in the gym caen do more to build your confidence than just about anything else, which is why you love to tell your girlfriends about your lifting habit, and why you wish more of them would join you at the gym.
Being a woman who lifts rocks!
