Fitness is something we would all like to do more of, but sometimes there just isn’t enough hours in the day to manage a trip down to the gym each day. Sometimes we only have 5 minutes for lunch after all, and trying to fit in a workout before we go to bed is simply impossible. We need a good night’s sleep to be able to function at work in the morning! But that doesn’t mean staying fit is any less important to keep up with, and knowing that means we feel bad about not running on the treadmill at least 5 times a week!
So just like working out without completely wearing yourself out is important, so is being able to find the time to make sure you’re in the prime of life in such a busy schedule. And if you’re struggling with that balance, here’s the post to help you out.
Wake Up 5 Minutes Earlier
Even if you’re tired, and you didn’t get quality sleep the night before, if you wake up 5 minutes early you can easily get a jump start on the day. You might not think that’s enough time to get any kind of substantial workout in, but you can stretch at the very least, which will you limber you up for the day and help keep your muscles supple for a day at work.
At the same time, you could also look into something like six minute circuit training to try and maximise on your conscious decision. It might be just the thing to make sure your morning shower feels truly deserved, and that the ache in your muscles soon turns into strong biceps and hamstrings that can keep you going until midnight rolls around.
Walk to Work
Commuting is something we all need to do, no matter how annoying it is. But if you get the bus in, or you use the train, you can easily get off a stop before your actual stop and then walk the rest of the way. Or if you live close enough to do the entire journey on foot, try to do so more often. It’ll keep your legs healthy, loosen up any clots you think might be forming from sitting at a desk all day, and get some extremely beneficial exercise in.
Use Your Breaks
Exercising might be the last thing you want to do when you’re working, but at the same time, they’re the best chance you have to try and get yourself into a routine. And when you’re in a routine, you’re going to find it hard to not do any exercise, and that’s exactly what you want!
Put your phone down, or use it for music to get your best jogging pace on. A quick one around the block will do wonders for the rest of your afternoon behind the counter or in front of the computer.
Finding the time to stay fit is hard, but never impossible. Try changing your habits.
